Meaning of Beauty

Today morning, when I reach my office; my boss called me to his room. Today was the launch of my project. I had spent 3 months in that project. Yesterday I left 3am from office. I was very afraid of the result because there were some bugs and if the project flunks they would fire me. I went to boss room. As I entered his room he started scolding me. I had to listen to him but thank god at last the errors was removed and my project launched successfully. By now I got tired of my professional life and nothing seemed to be hunky dory. I needed peace of mind. I didn’t find anything soothing in my surroundings.

So, I decided to go into Natures lap. I decided to go to Rishikesh. I had planed to stay there for a week. I took 14 hours to reach there. I had done my arrangements in advance. There I stayed in a camp. Everything seemed so beautiful. I woke up early in the morning to start my day. It was so fresh. The scene of sunrise was a beauty in itself. The sight of sunrise was so energetic that it took away all my tiredness of three months that I spent on my project. Finally I reached my destination. Believe me the journey to a place farther from my workstation was like I was having time of my life with nothing to take care of. As soon as I reached, I heard a sound coming from behind me - “Good Morning Sahabji”. I looked behind. There was a child standing there to offload my baggage. The child looked so innocent in his early 12-13th year of life that I couldn’t share my load and carried my bag myself to the camp site. I had tea there served by the boy. I was really feeling pity about the boy. I wished if I could do anything for the boy that would bring smile on his face. Our tents were made by the river side. The sight of Ganges flowing through the rocks was very soothing. We were told that we would start our tracking after lunch around 2.30 PM. We got fresh and was just sitting and watching the Ganges.

My eyes saw something and I was mesmerized. I saw that little boy sitting with her little sister. She was sitting in her brother’s lap and her brother was combing her hairs. With an expert mastery he made two beautiful locks and plucked one flower besides some bushes near by and placed it in his little sister’s hair. I really don’t know which flower it was, whether it smelled good or not, but one thing I was sure of that it looked very beautiful. It looked like all the boutiques of flowers and those roses looked so superficial to that single flower in that little girl’s hairs. I just kept looking at both of them. They were so happy, so unaware of the outside world, no worries at all. I felt like my coming to the hills was successful.

I thought if someone is beautiful from inside, everything looks beautiful. Like for a mother her child is so beautiful even he is so ugly. That’s beauty. Now I have got to know the meaning of Beauty.

Beauty depends on your attitude. If your mind is set then you would see everything surrounding you so beautiful. Even a cactus would look like a rose. If you are not happy from inside then rose will also look like a cactus.
