Supported the novel Q&A, this sharp version narrates the tale of a young man, Jamal Palik (Dev Patel), who becomes a contestant on the Indian edition of the hit giveaway Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? and ends up being charged of betraying. As we see him beaten into acknowledging that he “knew” the answers, the film flashes back and forth in time to display how he came to this place and incisively where the truth lies.
We see how Jamal and his brother Salim (Madhur Mittal), connected by their female friend Latika (Freida Pinto), grow up in one of nation worst slums, where they must haunt to a spree of subordinate crimes in order to survive. Later, we get them in their teens, as they deal tours of the Taj Mahal and catch up with tall narrations for the trusting visitors.
Out of despair their law-breakings get vivider, as Latika acquires herself into big difficulty. By the time we get to Jamal’s appearing on the game appearance, it’s clear he is determined what really calculates, as the tension-driven episodes has him answering questions at a maddened pace by the dubious quizmaster (Anil Kapoor).
